Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, but research is expanding what we know about who is at risk and what can be done about it. This November, during Lung Cancer Awareness Month, the Lung Cancer Action Network (LungCAN®),
a collaborative association of leading lung cancer advocacy organizations, is uniting its member organizations around a single message: lung cancer can happen to anyone, prevention and early detection save lives, and the lung cancer community has more reason for hope than ever before.

This November, the National Mall in Washington, DC, will once again be transformed into a sea of 60,000 white flags, each representing two lives lost to lung cancer this year. But this display is more than a memorial, it’s a call for how much further we can go. With breakthroughs in early detection and expanding treatment options, each flag stands not only as a reminder of lives lost, but as fuel for the progress being made every single day.

4,000-mile road trip in Skan Van to celebrate survivorship during LCAM. LiveLung is also bringing 140 patients, care partners and advocates to Charlotte, NC, for our Survivorship Summit and Lung Cancer Awareness Month Celebration. We’re celebrating the progress in lung cancer survivorship while also advocating for early detection and more treatment advances. Miles of progress; Miles to go.
